Google Pixel 2 leak reveals that the company's next smartphone could be massive

Details are starting to spread about the next generation of Google Pixel smartphones

The Google Nexus 6 had a gigantic pocket-splitting 6-inch screen and Google wisely decided to scale things back for the Pixel and Pixel XL .
But a new leak suggests the company may go back to the premise of bigger is better.
Multiple sources speaking to Droid Life appear to suggest a third handset will be launched alongside follow ups to the Pixel and Pixel XL.
This third phone has been codenamed "taimen" which, to anyone aquatically-minded, means a big fish in the salmon family.

Taimen are noted for being large and Google is noted for using its codenames as indicators of the final product. The aforementioned Nexus 6P was codenamed Shamu, after the famous whale.
It doesn't take much to string the two together and plenty of gadget fans are predicting a "Pixel XXL" could make an appearance towards the end of 2017.

Executives have already confirmed that new versions of the Pixel are coming and that the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
"You can count on a successor this year, even if you don't hear a date from me now," said Rick Osterloh, head of Google's hardware department.
The Pixel won favour for being a high-end smartphone with build quality to rival the likes of Apple. It was also free of the usual bloatware that accompanies most Android handsets.
